Description trail runs 27 km or 14.5 km
The start is at our accommodation and first leads you through the sports fields to the cultural heritage site Erve Kraesgenberg with a number of historical buildings. After the obstacles in a riding hall for horses, the kilometres follow through the Dinkel valley partly along the meandering river Dinkel and across old farmyards. Via a curling alley, the Zandbergen nature reserve is approached on narrow winding forest paths with some height differences and a small sand drift. You then encounter the first commies at the border crossing, after which the route continues around the pretty German monastery Bardel. On the way to the furthest point of the 27 km trail, the Bentheimer Wald is crossed (Note: presence of wild boar). Over paths near a sand excavation, you re-enter the Netherlands, so again be careful not to get caught by the commies. Before the border crossing, the 14.5 km trail rejoins. Following a narrow path along the Dinkel, you will again cross a farmyard (with a huge bull!) and go through the meadows to the finish at our accommodation. Time registration is available. We will start in small groups this year to create more space for all runners. Fast runners start first. Please follow the instruction from the speaker.
Description drop-off Trailrun 10 km
Want a taste of trail running? Run the most beautiful part of the trail in a comfortable way: get dropped off 10 km before the finish in a unique Twente way; by horse and cart! Gathering point is at the rear entrance of the athletics track on Gildehauserweg. There are two starting groups you can sign up for
You will be taken to your start location at the beautiful German monastery Bardel. There the adventure starts and you join the course of the long trail run after 500 metres. This goes first to the furthest point on the route in the Bentheimer Wald which is crossed (watch out for wild boars!). Over paths near a sand quarry you get back into the Netherlands, where you have to smuggle butter across the border, so be careful not to get caught by the commies. On a narrow path along the Dinkel you cross a farmyard again (with a huge bull!) and go through meadows to our accommodation where the finish follows.
